The Arabic language has managed to assimilate different civilizations; it is the mother tongue of many countries. The importance of the Arabic language stems from several aspects, the most significant being its close connection to the Islamic religion and the Quran. Allah chose this language among the world's languages to be the language of His great book and to deliver the final message through it. Understanding the Arabic language is obligatory, as comprehending the Quran and the Sunnah is a duty, and it can only be understood through the Arabic language. Imam Al-Shafi'i emphasized in discussing innovation in religion, 'People have only fallen into ignorance and disagreement due to their abandonment of the Arabic language.
